Dr. Michael J. Moses

Dr. Michael Moses is an orthopaedic surgeon and a hand and upper extremity specialist in Los Angeles.

As a hand and upper extremity specialist, Dr. Moses’s experience across the entire spectrum of upper extremity pathology enables comprehensive and longitudinal care for patients with a variety of conditions. Dr. Moses has extensive experience caring for patients from Broadway actors and musicians, public service workers, and patients with chronic conditions.

In addition to athletic and degenerative upper extremity injuries, Dr. Moses also specializes in traumatic upper extremity conditions, including microvascular repair, arthroplasty, and fracture management. He performs multiple types of surgeries, including complex upper extremity reconstruction. Dr. Moses’s focus and expertise in the upper extremity provide patients with a full range of operative and non-operative treatment options, minimally-invasive and open surgery.

Dr. Moses completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital (formerly HJD), and his hand and upper extremity fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. In addition to this training, he has also completed the AO Trauma and Cleveland Clinic Microsurgery Courses equipping him with the most cutting-edge treatments for patients.

Dr. Moses studied music composition and vocal performance as an undergraduate at Princeton University, where he graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Moses attended medical school at NYU School of Medicine, where he completed his MD program and was inducted in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.

Dr. Moses is active in multiple national societies representing orthopaedic surgeons. He serves as a Social Media Ambassador for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and serves on the Diversity Board for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH). Additionally, he has published over fifty peer-reviewed research papers, surgical technique videos, and book chapters, and has presented his research at national and international meetings.
